like the idea of the mock draft just cause it's something to talk about. But, wouldn't the odds of the Sabres picking 1st be slim and the Canucks picking 2nd almost impossible?

Waste of time Ian. There wont be a draft because there wont be a season and there wont be a CBA.

That would make for one hell of a 2014 draft class though if they got something togther by then!

We’re sitting here, and I’m supposed to be the draft expert, and we’re talking about mock drafts. I mean listen, we’re sitting here talking about the mock draft, not the actual draft, not the actual draft, not the actual draft, but we’re talking about mock drafts. Not the actual draft that I go out there and die for and predict every pick like it’s my last but we’re talking about mock drafts man. How silly is that? … Now I know that I’m supposed to lead by example and all that but I’m not shoving that aside like it don’t mean anything. I know it’s important, I honestly do but we’re talking about mock drafts. We’re talking about mock drafts man. We’re talking about mock drafts. We’re talking about mock drafts. We’re not talking about the actual draft. We’re talking about mock drafts.

Could you imagine Garf if the Sabres got MacKinnon? And you all thought Grigorenko was bad enough....

McKinnon
Grigerenko
Ennis
Hodgson
Ott

How do you even begin to formulate logic lines if the team was stacked like that?

I know coming out of the last lockout you got a ball for never winning the cup, so if hes going off that then its not any crazier than any other team getting it.

Then again he didnt take Bettman into account....(Find struggling franchise aaaaaaaand 1st overall pick!)

In this situation, I would say Colorado and Vancouver do something very rare.... and that's trade between the two.

Colorado would have to pay a pretty penny on top of their 4th pick, but I think they would at least attempt to trade up and get Jones if they were that close.

The Denver connection to Jones on top of our need for a left handed top pairing defender, pretty much makes it a no brainer...

i forget where but one of the tsn guys posted a tweet about such draft odds. It said teams like the leafs, stars and jackets would have the best odds a picking first overall if they have cba in lace around draft time.

I believe last time every team started out with 4 balls and they lost a ball for everytime they had made the playoffs in the last 3 years.

Should have done the lottery by the same system that the NHL used during the last lockout. Meaning Vancouver would likely be picking in the 20's or 30th.

Just wait until the real draft and see Bettman's "lottery" system.

All struggling American teams get an extra ball.

right so the sabres drafting 1st overall is unlikely and the canucks drafting 2nd is almost impossible. The jackets would have the best odds because they would recieve the lotto balls from LA and New york. Toranto would also have a good shot, so would the Isles and Stars.

not my fault the Canucks number came up #2. If I wanted to rig it Vancouver would have been picking 1.

every team was given 1 number and equal odds.

I'm not sure the Avs are one of the teams he was talking about.
